It's 5am...been up for a bit cause I can't sleep. This time difference is not my friend! I finally got to talk with mom last night before bed. With only being able to talk when I have wi-fi plus the time difference, this was the first time I got to talk with her since I left! Hopefully internet connection will be better next time to face time.
Since I'm up, I figured I would provide some of the funny/interesting events of yesterday that I forgot to mention...
1. Crazy drivers. Most drive mopeds and I get fearful every time they fly by! They are speed demons and whip in and out of traffic. We saw one at the gas station pull in with a father, mother, and toddler. The baby toddler was riding standing on the seat holding the mother's hands....SERIOUSLY???! and the baby wasn't wearing a helmet. Crazy.
2. Our driver is a speed demon. Everywhere we go it feel like were flying. Around 80 the whole time. Not to mention these roads are super bumpy. It's like were on a roller coaster for hours at a time.
3. Getting in the car to drive to dinner I had my first Emily moment. Smoked my hear on the top of the car trying to get it. Pretty sure this is karma for all the times I have laughed at everyone at the farm for running into the duct work! We have decided it was due to Thai people being so short since Megan ran into the light on the wall in our room.
4. Showers. The bathrooms in Thailand are all connected. No door or curtain for the shower. Everything gets wet. Not my cup of tea. The first night, Morgan and I couldn't figure out the hot water situation and were too tired to get help, so we just took a cold shower...which was actually very refreshing after that longggg plane ride. But, we got it figure out last night so we're all good now!
5. Food. We went to get snacks and breakfast last night. My pile was of course all chocolate related. Chocolate cereal, chocolate cracker things, chocolate filled cookies....and of course thanks to Satch for getting me addicted, blue bag chips ahoy with milk! Clearly I have an issue with chocolate....but it's vacation, so who cares!
6. 555. In Thai, the number 5 is pronounced ha. So, when texting, if something is funny instead of "haha" or "lol" they type 555 (ha ha ha)
7. Dogs. Still can't get over how dogs are every where just laying out. In the road, on the side of the road, every where! and all I want to do is pet one! They are just so calm and cute...unlike my rowdy, annoying puppy at home..Ruger! :)
That's all I can think of for now!
